WHY I DREAM IN COLOR
Susan kolls
Artist Statement
Susan M. Kolls is a disabled artist who moved to Western Massachusetts five years ago, with her two adult children. Since that time she has learned to embrace the challenges of painting on canvas, and the views from Mt. Tom.
Most days, however, you will find her beside a river, appreciating the juxtaposition of her slow, verses the rivers rush, being grateful for encounters with wildlife, and collecting the history and treasure that flow from just upstream. She cherishes the colors of rocks, the greens of the woods, the way drops of rain change the hues around her, and how everything connects to every other thing, in a world of dots and dashes.
This show is a reminder to slow down and appreciate the colors of the world.
And to look for dots everywhere.
